City Burn Site: WARNING!!!! WARNING!!! IMPORTANT NOTICE ON BACK OF THIS NEWSLETTER REGARDING OUR CITY BURN SITE. This letter was received by the City from the Minnesota DNR. We cannot stress enough that we need to abide by the sign and rules that are associated with our City Burn Site. It is a VERY real possibility that we will lose our site. PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO OBEY THE POSTED SIGN AND ONLY BRING ACCEPTABLE ITEMS. If we lose our City Burn Site, we will have to bring the brush, lawn clippings, etc. to Worthington for disposal!!! This alternative is not convenient or appealing to anyone. EVERYONE NEEDS TO DO THEIR PART IN KEEPING OUR CITY BURN SITE OPEN FOR OUR RESIDENTS!!! IF YOU WITNESS SOMEONE BRINGING UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS OUT THERE, REPORT IT TO CITY HALL IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Snow Removal:  City ordinance PROHIBITS parking cars on the street during snowfall until snow removal is DONE! Please keep your vehicles off the street until snow removal is done.

Snowmobiles:  City ordinance specifically states that “no person shall operate a snowmobile on any public street or highway in the City from 11:00pm to 6:00am.” Also, “no person shall enter upon the property of another unless permission is given to them.” Maximum speed for snowmobiles within the City limits is 10mph. Law enforcement will be enforcing this ordinance.

Dog License: New dog licenses are due by January 1st, 2017! They cost $2.00 per dog and they are REQUIRED! Please bring a copy of the rabies shot information with you to City Hall and get your new dog license, give it to your dog for Christmas!

RL American Legion:  Pancakes will be served this Sunday, December 4th! Don’t miss the delicious pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and beverage. Come out and support our local economy! They always have plenty. Come down to the Legion on Christmas morning for fun and fellowship, 10:00-Noon! January pancakes will be Sunday, January 8th!!! Postponed one week due to the New Year’s holiday!!!

Greater RL Community Center: The Caring Community group (Bethel Lutheran Church and First Presbyterian Church) together with the Greater RL Community Center Association will be hosting the Christmas Community Breakfast on Saturday, December 10th!!! 9:00am-11:00am at the Greater RL Community Center (former High School building). There will be games in the gym for the children, the Bethlehem photo booth, crafts and a chance to visit with Santa Claus! Adults are invited to stay and visit after you eat. “Seeking to build caring relationships through Christ in this community.”

City Council: The next City Council meeting and Public Hearing for Eugene & Melanie Cleland will be December 8th, 2016 at 6:15pm at City Hall.

Coffee with the Commissioners: Nobles County Commissioners plan to be at the Pit Stop and Senior Citizen Center on December 14th around 7:45-9:00am to visit with residents to hear any concerns we may have. If you want to bring something to their attention, this would be a good opportunity to have your voice heard.

Round Lake – Brewster Christmas Program: The Round Lake – Brewster Christmas program will be held on Thursday, December 15th at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. The kids do such a great job, make a point to give them a big audience and put yourself in the Christmas spirit!

Schaap Sanitation:  Schaap Sanitation would like to announce that their schedule WILL NOT change during the holidays. See enclosed slip for details. You will also find the 2017 recycling schedule. Put it on your fridge and you won’t miss the dates! Remember to put your garbage and recycle containers out the NIGHT BEFORE!!!! They come early!

RL American Legion: City Hall Closed: City Hall will be closed on December 26th and January 2nd to observe Christmas and New Year’s holidays. These closures are state mandated and we are required to be closed on these dates. WISHING EVERYONE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A SUCCESSFUL NEW YEAR!!!
