RL Senior Center: Enjoy time with others from the Round Lake area! You are welcome to stop downtown at the Round Lake Senior Center anytime from 7:45am until after 9:00am each morning. (Times are subject to change with your input.) Invite a friend to join you, chances are they want someone to go with, too! **Coffee and cookies are available—sometimes other baked goods, too. **15-20 minutes of exercise (standing or sitting) starting at 8:25am are not required—but fun to do together.  **Also: Play cards (such as pinochle, 3-15, 500) the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 1:00pm!

 

City Burn Site: WARNING!!!! It is a VERY real possibility that we will lose our site. If we lose our City Burn Site, we will have to bring the brush, lawn clippings, etc. to Worthington for disposal!!! This alternative is not convenient or appealing to anyone. IF YOU WITNESS SOMEONE BRINGING UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS OUT THERE, REPORT IT TO CITY HALL IMMEDIATELY!!!! It’s most helpful when you are able to identify them, so we can contact them about it.

 

Snow Removal: City ordinance PROHIBITS parking vehicles on the street during snowfall of at least 4 inches, until snow removal is DONE! Please keep your vehicles off the street until snow removal is done.

 

Snowmobiles: City ordinance specifically states that “no person shall operate a snowmobile on any public street or highway in the City from 11:00pm to 6:00am.” Also, “no person shall enter upon the property of another unless permission is given to them.” Maximum speed for snowmobiles within the City limits is 10mph. Law enforcement will be enforcing this ordinance. Please be respectful of your neighbors and their property!

 

Dog License:  New dog licenses are due by January 1st, 2018! NEW PRICE SCHEDULE FOR 2018:  Jan 1st – before Mar 1st $2.00, Mar 1st – before June 1st $10.00, any time after June 1st $25.00. Please bring a copy of the rabies shot information with you to City Hall and get your new dog license, give it to your dog for Christmas! They are REQUIRED! No exceptions! Rabies shot information required when getting the dog license at City Hall.

RL American Legion: Pancakes will be served this Sunday, Dec 3rd! Don’t miss the delicious pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and beverage. Come out and support our local economy! They always have plenty. Come down to the Legion on Christmas morning, Dec 25th for fun and fellowship, 10:00-Noon! January pancakes will be Sunday, January 7th!!! Next Pork Chop Dinner will be on Saturday, January 20th!

 

Greater RL Community Center:  The Caring Community Group (Bethel Lutheran Church and First Presbyterian Church) together with the Greater RL Community Center Association will be hosting the Christmas Community Breakfast on Saturday, December 9th!!! 9:00am-11:00am at the Greater RL Community Center (former High School building). There will be games for the children, the Bethlehem photo booth, crafts and a chance to visit with Santa Claus! Adults are invited to play bingo or stay and enjoy fellowship after you eat. “Seeking to build caring relationships through Christ in this community.” Volunteers are always welcome. City Council: The next City Council meeting will be December 7th, 2016 at 5:15pm at City Hall. Employee reviews will be held first and the regular meeting will start immediately after.

 

Round Lake – Brewster School Christmas Program:  The Round Lake – Brewster Christmas program will be held on Thursday, December 14th at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. The kids do such a great job, make a point to give them a big audience and put yourself in the Christmas spirit! Performance will be at the school in Brewster.

 

Schaap Sanitation: Schaap Sanitation would like to announce that their schedule WILL change during the holidays. Garbage pick-up will be on TUESDAY Dec 26th and TUESDAY Jan 2nd. You will also find the 2018 recycling schedule in this mailing. Put it on your fridge and you won’t miss the dates! Remember to put your garbage and recycle containers out the NIGHT BEFORE!!!! They come early!

 

City Hall Closed: City Hall will be closed on Monday, December 25th and Monday, January 1st to observe Christmas and New Year’s holidays. WISHING EVERYONE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A SUCCESSFUL NEW YEAR!!!
