2018 January Newsletter

The City Council: The next City Council meeting will be on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 at 6:15pm at City Hall.

The Caring Community Group: Would like to say “thank you” to all businesses who donated to the drawings at the community breakfast in December. A good time was had by all! Both Bethel Lutheran Church and First Presbyterian Church are involved in the Caring Community Group.

Dog License:  2018 dog licenses are due! Please stop down to City Hall and pay the $2.00 per dog to satisfy your responsibility as part of the Round Lake community. It’s in our ordinances that all dogs need to be licensed and on a LEASH AT ALL TIMES!!!! Thank you. You will need to show proof of rabies shots for all dogs that you buy a license for, I can make a copy of your info at City Hall. PLEASE remember to pick up after your dog when taking them for a walk and they do their business. Respect others in the community by taking care of your animal. Thanks!

REMINDER!  City ordinance states “no vehicles or other items are to be parked on the street during snowfall, until AFTER snow removal is done”. PLEASE honor this ordinance! Having vehicles parked on the street makes it dangerous for the plow drivers and risks damage to your vehicles. Thank you in advance!

SNOW REMOVAL: Do NOT push or blow snow onto your neighbor’s property, it’s disrespectful and they don’t appreciate it. City Ordinance states that you are not to blow snow into City streets, either. Clear snow around mailboxes to make it easier to deliver the mail, we all need to work together to make the winter months better for all of us!

Gas Meter & Carbon Monoxide Safety:  Remember to keep your gas meter clear of snow and ice for your family’s safety! See enclosed flyer for safety tips regarding carbon monoxide also!

City Hall:  Will be CLOSED on Monday, January 1, 2018 to observe the New Year’s Day holiday! City Hall will also be CLOSED for Martin Luther King, Jr Day, Monday, January 15th, 2018!

The Greater Round Lake Community Center: RSVP BoneBuilders (The Osteoporosis Exercise Program) informational meeting on Tuesday, January 16th at 2:00pm. See information on the back of this newsletter.

Round Lake American Legion:  Pancake breakfast will be served on Sunday, January 7th from 8:00am-Noon! Pork chop dinner will be served on Saturday, January 27th from 5:00pm – 7:30pm (or until gone). Both meals are worth the drive and you won’t be disappointed! Show your community pride and let them cook for you.

Christmas tree Removal:  If you would like the City Workers to bring your Christmas tree out to the burn site, leave it on your boulevard Wednesday, January 24th, 2018. They will remove it free of charge! (Real trees only, artificial trees will not be picked up).
