City Council: The next City Council meeting will be on Wednesday, July 11th, 2018 at 6:15pm at City Hall.

Gopher State One Call: Just a reminder to call 811 BEFORE you dig!! Stump removal is in this category as well. You can also call 1-800-252-1166. You don’t want to pay to repair something you hit while digging! It’s the law! Reminder your contractors also, they know it’s the law.

Tornado Siren: Reminder that Nobles County will blow the siren ANYTIME there is a warning in the COUNTY. The Bethel Lutheran Church basement is available for anyone seeking shelter during a tornado warning.

Building Permits: You need to get a building permit application from City Hall and have the project approved at a Council meeting BEFORE you start construction of a new building, shed, fence or deck! Council meets once a month, plan ahead.

Fourth of July: City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th to observe the legal holiday. Enjoy and be safe!

Mosquito Spraying: Clarke will be in town spraying for mosquitoes on July 12th and July 30th.

Horned Trout Tournament: Sunday, July 15th will be the 39th Annual Horned Trout Tournament at the Eastside Acres Campground. Registration starts at 10:00am and the Fishing Tournament will be from Noon – 2:00pm. First 100 kids fishing get a free T-Shirt. Gun raffle includes 3 guns and proceeds will go towards several area habitat projects within our area. $300 Cabela’s gift card Grand Prize raffle! Games on shore during the fishing tournament.

Community Mission Day: Saturday, August 18th at The Banquet in Sioux Falls, SD. If you have time to join the local churches on a mission journey, contact Randy & Mary at 945-8460 or Donna at 945-8163 to RSVP. They are looking for 30-35 people to help feed 300-350 people in need at The Banquet in Sioux Falls, SD. Please leave a message if no one is available. Final Reminder Notice from Southwest Minnesota Broadband Service: We would like to remind ALL Southwest Broadband Video customers that have not yet made the switch to Southwest Stream that your Video service will be ending as of July 14, 2018. After July 14, 2018, Southwest Stream will be the only Video service available. We encourage you to evaluate your ongoing Video needs and contact Southwest Broadband if you determine that you would like to be transitioned over to the NEW Southwest Stream Video service. The transition from your current Video service to Southwest Stream WILL NOT HAPPEN AUTOMATICALLY and requires your personal request and consent. If arrangements are made prior to this deadline, your current Video service will remain active beyond the deadline until installation is complete. If they do not hear from you by July 14, 2018, your Video service will end but all other services will remain active.

Round Lake American Legion: Pork chop dinner will be held on Saturday, July 21st from 5:00 – 7:30pm or until gone. Show your community pride and let them cook for you. June pork chops had a smaller crowd and it was still a lot of fun! Come check it out, you won’t be disappointed! Where else can you get a great meal for $10 and have some to take home? ½ orders are $7.00. Don’t like crowds? Call your order in at 507-945-8321. Just add $.50 to these prices for an order to go!

American Red Cross Bloodmobile: Because Brewster is unable to have the bloodmobile as scheduled July 30, it will be in Round Lake. (Those who donated at Round Lake May 29 will be eligible.) An America Red Cross bloodmobile will be at the Round Lake American Legion Monday, July 30 from 2:00 to 7:00.  For more information or an appointment see redcrossblood.org or call Lynn 945-8122. Prepare for your donation: eat iron-rich foods, drink extra liquids (water or non-alcoholic drinks) and get a good night’s sleep. Ask a friend to donate at the same time. You can do twice as much good!
