June 2013 City News

The next council meeting will be held on Wednesday June 12, 2013 at 6:15 p.m. at City Hall.

The 2012 Drinking Water Confidence Report is available upon request at City Hall.

Budgets for NATURAL GAS ONLY will be starting this month.

PLEASE take your sump pump hose out of your sewer and put it outside.

The State of Minnesota requires us to charge $6.36 once a year to everyone that has a water

connection.  The fee collected is a water testing fee and it is sent to the State.

This is the time of the year for storms and tornados.  One should be alert to warnings and watches as posted on TV and radio.  The local Fire Department does send “spotters” out during storms and the fire whistle may be blown to warn people.  However, there is always time to take precautions after you hear the whistle so please be aware of weather conditions as they intensify.

Nobles County Law Enforcement will blow the Tornado Siren on our local water tower ANYTIME there is a warning in the COUNTY.

If you have outside electric problems at your property, please call City Hall.  DO NOT call Federated Rural Electric.

If you take burnable out to the burn site, DO NOT start a fire.  The city will maintain the burn site.

The burn site is for burnable only to the city residents.  If you see anyone throwing anything else like appliances, tires, tec. PLEASE let City Hall know who is doing it.  Your help will keep the burn site open.  It would be appreciated.

Reminder any resident doing any new construction, removal, or repair work (that includes putting up a fence and building a deck) MUST get a Building Permit.  The council APPROVES THIS PERMIT at their meetings so you MUST have one filled out before the meeting.

If you are planning to build or landscape your property (including planting tress and driving stakes in the ground), you MUST call “Gopher State One Call” before you dig.  Call 811 or 1-800-252-1166.

ALL DOGS MUST BE LICENSED BY THE CITY OF ROUND LAKE.

PLEASE don’t let your dog dirty up the park – after all- the entire park is for children to play in.

Also don’t let your dog dirty on other peoples’ property when you are walking your dog.

Reminder the City Park is a TOBACCO FREE facility.

PLEASE keep your lawns mowed.  The city does have an ordinance.  It states grass and weeds are not to grow on any property to a height of more than six (6) inches.

U & I Garden Club – annual plant and “white elephant” sale.  Saturday June 8th from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m at RL Fire Hall.  NO EARLY SALES.  They hope to see you there.

RL Senior Center will have rolls and coffee on Saturday June 8th from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.
