June 2015 City News

The next council meeting will be held on Wednesday June 10, 2015 at 6:15 p.m. at City Hall.

Budgets for natural gas only will be starting this month.

ALL DOGS MUST BE LICENSED BY THE CITY OF ROUND LAKE.

Please keep your lawns mowed.  The City does have an ordinance stating grass and weeds are not to

grow on any property to a height of more than six (6) inches.

Please take your sump pump hose out of your sewer and put it outside.

The City has always had a utility policy for non-payment and it will be strictly enforced.

There is a charge of $6.36 for the Minnesota Department of Health, this appears on your statement.

These funds collected are forwarded to the MDH.  The MDH uses these funds to cover the expenses involved with the testing of public water systems in the state.

This is the time of the year for storms and tornados.  One should be alert to warnings and watches as

posted on TV and radio.  The local Fire Department does send out “spotters” during storms and the fire whistle may be blown to warn people.  However, there is always time to take precautions after you hear

the whistle so please be aware of weather conditions as they intensify.

Nobles County Law Enforcement will blow the Tornado Siren on our local water tower ANYTIME

there is a warning in the COUNTY.

If you have outside electric problems at your property, please call City Hall.  DO NOT call Federated

Rural Electric.

If you take burnables out to the burn site, DO NOT start a fire.  The city will maintain the burn site.

The burn site is for burnables only to the city residents. If you see anyone throwing anything else like appliances, tires, etc. – please let city hall know who is doing it.  Your help will keep the burn site open.

Reminder – any new construction, removal or repair work (including fences and decks) you MUST get a Building Permit.  Council approves this permit at their meeting so you must have one filled out before meeting.

If you are planning to build or landscape your property (including planting trees and driving stakes in the ground), you MUST call “Gopher State” before you begin.  Call 811 or 1-800-252-1166.

PLEASE don’t let your dog dirty up the park – after all the entire park is for children to play in.

Also don’t let your dog dirty on other people’s property when you are walking your dog.
